The Federal District Atlas is part of activities traditionally developed by Codeplan (Federal District Planning Company). Released in 1984, its first version filled a gap in the introduction to the study of the Federal District and its territory, bringing great relevance information about environmental, social and economic aspects. The Atlas information was updated in 2017 to a more didactic way. Seeking a language of easy comprehension, but there was no circulation and formatting for this version dissemination.
Codeplan proposed to continue this project in 2020, not only by updating its information. Codeplan innovates by proposing new content and modernizing data presentation, transforming the Atlas into two products: an attractive publication and an interactive virtual tool.
Partnerships have been held with the International Affairs Office and the Tourism State Office. In this way, the Federal District Government understands Brasília as an international destination and relies on the Atlas as a tool for disseminating information about the federal capital on the international scenario. And for the first time, the Atlas will be translated into English and Spanish, enhancing the attention and attraction of Tourism and business on the international scenario.
Codeplan reinforces its role of bringing its research and products closer to its target audience. Which are public technicians and managers, civil society, business people, entrepreneurs and researchers. While responding to Federal District population demands regarding data and information transparency and democratization.
