8.2 – Brasilia as an international tourism destination

Brasilia, born under the auspices of modern architecture, is considered a capital with the high potential to attract international tourists and to be the hub of international flights. In 2019, besides those already established with Portugal, the United States, Argentina and Panama, new direct flights to the capital have begun with Mexico, Chile, Peru and Paraguay, deepening tourism relations. Besides these new flights, the Stopover Program with a Portuguese airline holds the prospect of increasing the number of European tourists to about 20 thousand visitors annually.
